La Parole De Vie B.P.4150 Libreville, Gabon Tel. 241.264255 paroledevie60@hotmail.com Jan-Feb-March 2002 News Letter Dear in Christ,
Greetings to you in the name of Jesus. Once again the Lord has permitted us to come into your home with the testimonies of what He is doing. We are wishing you all a blessed Feasts of Passover and The Feast of Unleavened Bread. Those of you are previleged to celebrate this year's Feasts please remember those of us in Libreville Gabon who cannot afford money to celebrate. We want you to assist us with some gift offering to enable us celebrate with you. Last year we were able to celebrate The Feast Of Tabernacles just because a sister from Bermuda sent us a sum of $300.00. No doubt our heavenly Father blessed her. We have invited some friends and please if the Lord impresses you to assist us please do. As we commemorate our freedom from sin let us live our remaing life in honour of He who sacrificially surrendered His life for our redemption.
We just concluded our 3 days seminar for which we hosted 2 Sabbaterians from the USA. It was a wonderful time as we study indept in His Word. Though we did not accept all that they taught, but their visit has created many impacts in our society. They don't accept the keeping of the Creator's Holydays. They told us it is no longer necessary to observe these Holydays because they are just shadows and keeping them is to return again to bondage. We showed them several passages from the bible were it was stated that years after the resurrection of Jesus that the disciples continue to observe them. They told us vehemently that they cannot work with us nor give us the PC's , Printer with copy/scaner and the Monitor that they brought to us. They adviced us that it will be for our own good if we abandon the Holydays. They said that they cannot support us with the payment of our rents, and the $250.00 monthly support for me and the money promised to my wife to start a trade. Really, these are very tempting but the truth was clearly stated in the bible. We refused all these good offer because of the truth we have found. We must obey God rather than man. We however thanked them for their visit and reaffairmed our stand on the truth. They have since gone back to the USA but only gave us the 50 copies of bibles they came with. We want you to help us in our search for perfection. Brethren, we are in need of all these that we refused as we cannot compromise the truth. Can some one help us with the PC's, Printer and the Monitor? I would like to begin with the topic "GREAT OPPORTUNITY HERE"! I AM STAYING! Acts 17:16-while Paul waited--- at Athens, his spirit was stirred in him, when he saw the city wholly given to idolatry. Years ago, a shoe manufacturer sent two salesmen down under to the Australians out back region to see if they could open up some business opportunities among the aborigines. After a few months, the main office received telegraph reports from both sales men. One said." No business here. Natives don't even wear shoes! I'm returning" The other reported "Great opportunity here. Natives don't wear shoes! I'm staying". This little story makes a big point about our attitude towards winning souls for Christ. We can either view our present location naturally and pessimistically, and say there is "no business here", or we can view the same situation spiritually and optimistically as a "great opportunity. Consider the verse above from the account of Paul's visit to Athens. If two evangelists had been sent to Athens, I'm sure one of them looking at the all those idols and concluding "No opportunity here" But Paul's response was just the opposite. He was stirred up or excited as another translation puts it to see that they were very religious seeking after God so much that they had even erected a statue" to the unknown God" His conclusion was "Great opportunities here! They are misled and confused, but still seeking after God". A man was moved by his business to a very religious town. He told a friend he saw no opportunity for the gospel because there was already a Church on every corner. His friend said, "get to work. Religious people need the gospel too. We must never forget that the "good news" first went out to the very religious nation that was already looking for the Messiah. We must always remember that wherever the Lord locates us is His land of opportunity for the gospel. You are welcome to Gabon to spread the message of salvation. If you cannot come send your prayers, literature, fund, bibles, even evangelical equipment. Gabon has about 40 distinct ethnolinguistic groups. FANG-(5) groups 445,000,ESHIRA-PUNU(4)290,000 KOTA-TEKE(9)275,000,NJABI-MBETE(5)255,000,MYENE(6)103,000, OKANDE and other smaller groups 96,000,PYGMIES 11,000; other African peoples 45%, FRENCH 15%. Some one wrote from the USA asks, "where is Gabon?" Asia, Africa, MidEast, -where? Is this question not enough to convince you that our country is still in the dark. The Sabbath truth must be circulated here. Greater number of the populace have not been exposed to the life changing gospel. Syncretism(mixing Christianity and non Christian religious) and universalism (all will ultimately be saved)are wide spread. My dear brethren we should not fold our hands and watch our people perish. Help us bring our people to the truth. Some Pastors here are members of secret cults and are deceiving people who are after signs and wonders. We have freedom of gospel, but pray that many years of neglect by evangelical missions may be made good. Islam is the fasted growing religious group. The conversion of the President to Islam in 1973 initiated this growth. Mosques are scattered in every locations. Pray that concern of believers at this development may stimulate vital and effective evangelism among Muslims and non Muslims alike. Unreached peoples are many, there is spiritual needs every where. We need to build an orphanage, skill acquisition institute, through this we can penetrate every where(such institution has never being establish) and show them the love of Jesus. The Fangs are the dominant people in Gabon, but many parts of their areas has never being evangelised. Some areas in the East are closed to Protestant mission works. The strong Bwiti movement among The Fang is a mixture of paganism with Christian elements and has never being challenged by vigorous biblical evangelism. This we want to do if you will uphold our hands. The various Pygmy tribes are little known or understood and spiritually neglected Brethren, the needs here are enormous. We are determined to reach the entire country and those around with the message of salvation. FELLOWSHIP OF PRAISE/PRAYER
Praise God for the commencement of translation into French some correspondence lessons. Let us thank God for the conversion of 8 prisoners in our state prison, 5 young men and 3 ladies who accepted the truth as we evangelise them every Monday. Ask God to touch the prison officials to release them for baptism. We need also funds to print tracts and lessons in the local languages of Gabon. Remember bro. Praise God for the salvation of a fetish priest and a traditional ruler. Pray that they will remain faithful. Ask for a break through as we prepares to reach the youths during the May 27th children day. May God bless all of you who network with us to reach the lost in Africa for Christ. Let me know that you are praying for us and that you are standing with us in your prayers and support.
Thanks for caring and for sharing.
Yours in the blessed hope,
Michael & Stella Porter
PRAYER CONVERSATION WITH GOD
Have you ever said, “well, all we can do now is pray”? Sometimes, instead of beginning with prayer, we resort to it after all our other resources have been used. When we come to the end of our selves, we come to the beginning of God. We don’t need to be embarrassed that we are needy. God doesn’t demand that we pray with eloquence or in King James English. Our feeble, stumbling prayers are heard by God. A cry, a sigh, a “help!” are prayers, according to the bible.
Prayer is for every moment of our lives, not just for times of suffering or joy. Prayer is a place, a place where you meet God in genuine conversation.
Frank C. Laubach, a missionary, said “Prayer at it’s highest is a two-way conversation” and stated that listening to God’s replies is the important part.
OUR PRAYER MODEL Jesus is the supreme model of a person devoted to prayer. He was constantly in an attitude of prayer, and never more urgently than when in the face of suffering. An amazing thing in Scripture is how much time Jesus spent in prayer. He had only three years of public ministry, but He was never too hurried to spend hours in prayer. He prayed before difficult tasks and crisis in His ministry. No day began or closed in which He was not in communion with His Father. He prayed long and often. He prayed briefly when He was in a crowd. He prayed a little longer when He was with His disciples; He prayed all night when He was alone.
We pray so haphazardly. Snatches of memorized verses spoken hastily in the morning. Then we say good bye to God for the rest of the day. At night we push through a few sleepy petitions. That is not the example of the prayer Jesus gave. The scriptures say, "Pray without ceasing" 1 Thessalonians 5:17, this should be the motto of every true follower of Jesus. No matter how dark and hopeless a situation might seem, never stop praying. "SOMETIMES, INSTEAD OF BEGINNING WITH PRAYER, WE RESORT TO IT AFTER ALL OUR OTHER RESOURCES HAVE BEEN USED."
For us, prayer should not be merely an act, it should be an attitude of life. Do we pray for God's will? Or do we demand our own way? Prayer needs to be an integral part of our lives, so that when a crisis comes we have we have the strength and faith to pray for God's will.
PATTERN FOR PRAYER
Jesus frequently prayed alone, separating Himself from every earthly distraction. We need to have a place --- a room or corner in our room or yard or garden--where we can regularly meet God alone. This does not contradict the admonition to "pray without ceasing" but rather it expands it. Jesus prays with great earnestness . At Gethsemane, in the earnestness of His praying, He agonised with God until His sweat became like "drops of blood." (Lk.22:44) The force of His prayers was increased during times of extreme suffering. When we know someone in need, pray. When we know someone in pain, pray. The story is told of a missionary and his family who were camped outside on a hill. They had money with them and feared an attack by roving thieves. After they prayed, they went to sleep. Months later an injured man was brought to the mission hospital. He asked the missionary if the soldiers guarding him and his wife that night. "We intended to rob you," the man said," but we were afraid of the 27 soldiers. According to the story, the missionary, when he was back in his homeland, related this story. A member of his church told him, "that night we had a prayer meeting. There were 27 of us praying. " prayers have no boundaries.
Selfishness is part of human nature, but today self-centredness has been raised to state-of-the-art levels. But Jesus said that we are to pray not only for ourselves but also even "for those who persecute you." (Mt.5:44) We are to forgive our enemies and plead for them, asking God to lead them to Christ. "PRAYER IS FOR EVERY MOMENT OF OUR LIVES, NOT JUST FOR TIMES OF JOY OR SUFFERING" Persecution, whether it is physical, social or mental, is one of the worst types of pain, but those who persecute us are to be the objects of our prayers. Jesus, in words uttered from the cross, said, "Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing." (Lk.23:34)
Christian teachers through the ages have urged the importance of prayer in the lives of believers. One wise man said, "If Christians spent as much time praying as they do grumbling, will would soon have nothing to grumble about."
THE POWER OF PRAYER Few of us have learned how to develop the power of prayer. We have not learned that a person has more strength when he is at prayer than when he is in control of the most powerful military weapons ever developed. Effective prayer is offered in faith. From one end of the bible to the other, we find the record of people whose prayers have been answered-- people who prayed fervently and whom God answered. Prayer is more than a wish; it is the voice of faith directed to God. One of my favourite verses is: "If any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to him. But when he asks, he must believe and no doubt, because he who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind." (Jas.1:5-6)
Jesus said, "I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours." (Mk11:24) I have heard many stories of prayers being answered for a loved one miles away, and Bible teaching, church history and Christian experience all confirm that prayer does work.
CREATIVE SILENCE
It is reported that during World war11, R.G. LeTourneau, an industrialist, received an order from the government to build a complicated machine for lifting aeroplanes. No machine of this type had yet been designed, and LeTourneau and his engineers could not come up with a plan. After sometimes everyone was becoming tense. Finally, on a Wednesday evening, LeTourneau told his staff he was not going to continue to work but was going to a prayer meeting. He said, "I've got a deadline with God." He went to the prayer meeting, sang the hymns and prayed. Afterward as he was walking back to home, the design of the machine in complete detail came into his mind. He needed time with God and creative silence to bring the design to the surface.
Sometime we tried so hard to solve the problems of our health, our children, our business, our future, that we become agitated or depressed: "Be still, and know that I am God." (Ps.46:10)
PRAYER IS A PLACE IN YOUR HEART
Prayer is a place where we need to spend time if we are to learn it's power. A Preacher I knew gradually lost his faith. In a world of suffering we could no longer feel the presence of God in his life. He had spent his life studying and pursuing an understanding of God, and now he had only a sense of betrayal and emptiness. His prayers seemed to bounced off an invisible barrier. The man expressed his anguish to an old friend whom he had known since childhood. He told his friend he thought knew what Moses would have felt like if the burning bush had stopped burning and had gone up in a puff of smoke. He had said for him there was no more burning bush or the sense of God' presence in his life.
His friend, a rancher, confided that often he too felt that way. "But," he said, "I realised a while back that the burning bush is always there, it's always burning. But I hadn't been spending much time in that part of the pasture." Prayer is "that part of the pasture" where the bush is burning. If we are to be powerful in prayer, we must spend time in the pasture.
Prayer is not just for emergencies. Prayer is a place in the heart. Prayer is a way of life. Can we begin to spend time in prayers like Jesus in order to obtain a result.

We learned about your web site at Sabbath services this week from Jim Aschenbrenner, and your site adds to our understanding that the exclusivity of our original affiliation and some of its offshoots is in serious error. There even seem to be Messianic Jewish people who have truth and have not assimilated the Babylonian doctrines that saturate the Catholic/Protestant dogmas.
There is much more that we could talk about on a personal basis, and what all has transpired over the years since you were sent from Wichita to DC. How wonderful to be in contact again with a brother!

I see that you have a wide variety of interesting articles. I thought that you might find my web site interesting. The first lines of my site read:
The purpose of this web site is to share with you why I as a Christian Sabbath keeper who observed a Friday sunset to Saturday sunset Sabbath for many years, now believes that the Sabbath day is simply 12 hours in length, beginning at dawn on Saturday and ending at dark (Note: When I say the word “hour”, I do not mean 60 minutes. An hour is 1/12 of the period of daylight. Longer in the summer and shorter in the winter. I will explain this in greater detail later). --

Thank you for this website! I have been involved with the Churches of God since the early 1980s and have become disappointed with all the scisms in these groups. I have seen so much false prophsey and false pride( as well as outright sin) that I simply waked away from it all in disgust.
Your Association if a breath of fresh air ands I will continue to read the articles and am interested in receiving your newsletter.

To: Mr. Brian Knowles:
You mentioned that you don't believe that Christians today are not required to observe the Holy Days mentioned in the Bible including the Sabbath. I have been reading such ideas in Mr. Martin's ASK website as well. I can see the logic in Mr. Martin's doctrinal studies. But how about Heb 4:9? Back in WWCG we have been taught that this verse means there is still a keeping of the Sabbath for the people of God. And in Revelation, it is the commandment keepers that will be saved from the terrible plagues that is prophesied to happen and will be given entrance to the Kingdom. We need some answers to these questions as we want to believe and practice what God really wants us to. We are not under any minister at the moment since we have been enlightened about the actual things that happened in WCG back in the 70s. We have been studying your articles as well as others. Questions come to mind so we hope that you will reply the soonest. Thanks so much.

Hi Ken,
I noticed "What's Wrong with Islam?" advertised in The Journal, but the GODWARD site doesn't have it - how can I get a copy? Have you seen <www.plaintruth.org> ? Do you know if this Muslim anti-christian site is connected with any ex-WCG person?
I also would like a copy of Brian's book "... no shepherd". Can I buy a copy from ACD? Would you like the money first?
Kind regards, John Buchner

Please read, verify, forward. Intergalactic Association of Mankind
The Two Witnesses: Men or Nations?
Rev. 1—“This is the revelation which God gave to Jeshua the Messiah, so that he could show his servants what must happen very soon.” (CJB) Rev. 11—“Also I will give power to my two witnesses; and they will prophesy for 1,260 days, dressed in sackcloth.” Zech. 4—“Those are the two who have been anointed with oil; they are standing with the Lord of all the earth.” Many have asked the question within themselves, and of others, “When the Messiah reveals what must happen in the end of days, how will we not know the identity of His representatives”? We agree that this information is pivotal in understanding what will happen to His servants in the coming holocaust, yet it remains an open question and one for the wildest speculation. Believing that one speculation is as good as another, I reasoned that the best anyone could hope for was an interesting study and at worst it would remain a mystery. Guided by the two fundamental principles in a search for truth, to “prove all things”, and “the Bible interprets its own symbols”, there are compiled here the results of a simple word study. Since so much of Revelation is written in metaphorical and allegorical symbol I have included personal critical comments, current events, and related scriptures for clarity. The numbers are from Strong’s Concordance, with italic presentation to signify the Greek. Rev. 11—“These are the two olive trees and the two candlesticks (menorah) standing before the Lord of the earth.” #2132- zayith- Olive, probably from an unused root [akin to #2099- Ziv to be prominent; brightness] an olive, tree, branch, berry, (as yielding illuminating oil), Olivet. Gen. 8—“Then the dove came to him in the evening, and behold, a freshly plucked olive leaf was in her mouth; and Noah knew that the waters had abated from the earth.” A chosen sign. Ps. 52—“But I am like a green olive tree in the house of God; I trust in the mercy of God forever and ever.” Symbolic of trust for assured continuance. Olive trees endure. Ps. 128—“Blessed is everyone who fears the Lord, who walks in His ways. Your wife shall be a fruitful vine…your children like olive plants all around your table. Prosperous and enduring. Is. 17—“In that day it shall come to pass that the glory of Jacob shall wane…yet gleaning grapes will be left in it, like the shaking of an olive tree, two or three at the top of the uppermost bough, four or five in its most fruitful branches,” says the Lord God of Israel. The remnant of a nation after a calamity. Jer.11—“What has My beloved to do in My house, having done lewd deeds with many? And the holy flesh has passed from you. When you do evil, then you rejoice. The Lord called your name Green Olive Tree, Lovely and of Good Fruit. With the noise of a great tumult he has kindled a fire on it, and its branches are broken.” His beloved is named an olive tree. Hosea 14—“I will be like the dew to Israel; he shall grow like the lily, and lengthen his roots like Lebanon. His branches shall spread; his beauty shall be like an olive tree, and his fragrance like Lebanon. Those who dwell under his shadow shall return…” Rom. 11—“And if some of the branches [Israel] were broken off, and you [Gentiles], being a wild olive tree, were grafted in among them, and with them became a partaker of the root and fatness of the olive tree…v. 24, For if you were cut out of the olive tree which is wild by nature, and were grafted contrary to nature into a good olive tree, how much more will these, who are the natural branches, be grafted into their own olive tree?” Gentile peoples are grafted into the nation of Israel. #4501- Menorah, Lampstand, Candlestick, Chandelier: Lev. 24—“Aaron shall be in charge of it (menorah) from evening until morning before the Lord continually; it shall be a statute forever in your generations.” A witness of God’s presence. Ex.27—“And you shall command the children of Israel that they bring you pure oil of pressed olives for the light, to cause the lamp to burn continually…It shall be a statute forever to their generations on behalf of the children of Israel.” On behalf-- in the sense of nearness. I Sam. 3—“And it came to pass at that time, while Eli was lying down in his place, and when his eyes had begun to grow so dim that he could not see, and before the lamp of God went out in the tabernacle of the Lord where the ark of God was”… it is safe to assume that at some point the lamp of presence must have gone out i.e., Samuel’s prophecy regarding Eli and his corrupt sons. Later, 30K killed in battle, national defeat, the Ark of the Covenant taken, Eli and his sons die. Rev. 1—“I am He who lives, and was dead, and behold, I am alive forevermore. Amen. And I have the keys of Hades and of Death…The mystery of the seven stars which you saw in My right hand, and the seven golden lampstands; The seven stars are the angels of the seven churches, and the seven lampstands which you saw are the seven churches.” To Stand: #5975 - amad, abide, confirm, be employed, endure, serve, stand (by, fast, firm, still, up) #2476 -Histemi, to stand (by, forth, still, up). #4716 - Stauros, from the base of #2476; a stake or post (as set upright), i.e. a POLE OR A CROSS as an instrument of capital punishment) figurative; exposure to death, i.e. self-denial. By now it should be obvious that the two witnesses are two nations that take a stand with “the Lord of the earth” to prophesy of the righteousness of his way. They are anointed of God to carry his message of destruction to those that have been the cause for their mourning. They are, for descriptive purposes, invincible. The have a supreme command of weaponry and the power of economic sanctions. If you simply take these attributes and plug them into the current events, chilling parallels emerge. How often have we recently heard the phrases, “axis of evil”, “all nations need to stand against terror”, “we are taking a stand”; etc., etc. “And anyone who does not take his cross [take a stand] and follow after me is not worthy of me. He who finds his life will lose it, and he who loses his life for My sake [my namesake/flock] will find it.” Matt. 10:38 Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen: Is. 21—“As whirlwinds in the South pass through, so it comes from the desert, from a terrible land. A distressing vision is declared to me; the treacherous dealer deals treacherously, and the plunderer plunders. Go up, O Elam! Besiege, O Media! All its sighing I have made to cease. Therefore my loins are filled with pain; pangs have taken hold of me, like the pangs of a woman in labor. I was distressed when I heard it; I was dismayed when I saw it. My heart wavered, fearfulness frightened me, the night for which I longed he turned into fear for me. Prepare the table, set a watchman in the tower, eat and drink. Arise, you princes, anoint the shield! For thus has the Lord said to me: “Go, set a watchman, let him declare what he sees.” And he saw a chariot with a pair of horsemen, a chariot of camels, and he listened diligently with great care. Then he cried, “A lion, my Lord! I stand continually on the watchtower in the daytime; I have sat at my post every night. And look, here comes a chariot of men with a pair of horsemen! And he answered and said, “Babylon is fallen, is fallen! All the carved images of her gods he has broken to the ground.” Oh, my threshing and the grain of my floor! That which I have heard from the Lord of hosts, The God of Israel, I have declared to you.” #738—ariy- a lion, (in the sense of violence) from #717-arah- to pluck, gather. Rev. 14--Then I saw another angel flying in the midst of heaven (in a Gulfstream?), having the everlasting gospel to preach to those who dwell on the earth-to every nation, tribe tongue, and people-saying with a loud voice, “fear God and give glory to Him, for the hour of His judgment has come; and worship Him who made heaven and earth, the sea and springs of water.” And another angel followed, saying, “Babylon is fallen, is fallen, that great city, because she has made all nations drink of the wine of the wrath of her fornication.” (CJB—“She has made all the nations drink the wine of God’s fury caused by her whoring!”) Rev. 18-- After these things I saw another angel coming down from heaven, having great authority, and the earth was illuminated with his glory. And he cried mightily with a loud voice, saying, “Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen, and has become a habitation of demons, a prison for every foul spirit, and a cage for every unclean and hated bird! (CJB “For the nations have drank of the wine of God’s fury caused by her whoring—yes, the kings of the earth went whoring with her, and from her unrestrained luxury the worlds businessmen have grown rich.) A recent program on the History channel dealt with the beginnings and development of the skyscraper as part of their “Modern Marvels” series. One segment of the program focused on the architectural, symbolic, and philosophical aspects of what these buildings mean to the modern world. Phrases such as “monuments to man’s genius and tenacity”, “a celebration of economic power”, “landmarks of Capitalism”, “a nation’s concept of it’s identity in concrete, glass, and steel” made it very clear that the modern Babylonian/Capitalist corporate system truly does praise “their gods made of gold, silver, bronze, iron, wood and stone,” Dan. 5:4. Can there be any doubt that the fall of the World Trade Center on 9/11 is a fulfillment of this prophecy and signals the beginning of the death of a system by which 1% of the world population controls 99% of the wealth. They live in great mansions while the third world rakes through a garbage dump. The Bottomless Pit Rev. 11:7--Now then they finish their testimony, the beast that ascends out of the bottomless pit will make war against them, overcome them, and kill them. According to my research, there are three things that have made modern warfare possible; the development of dynamite by Alfred Nobel, oil, and steel. The sky has been darkened with a permanent brown cloud by the smoke from this “bottomless pit”[the petroleum culture/economy] and a war making power beyond imagination a the legacy of this “beast”. An alliance of powers will defeat the two witnesses and then make celebration over them because they are so hated. How often in current events have we heard the questions and speculations on why the rest of the world hates us so? Rev. 11:8,9—“When they finished their witnessing, the beast coming up out of the Abyss [bottomless pit] will fight against them, overcome them and kill them; and their dead bodies will lie in the main street of the great city whose name, to reflect its spiritual condition, is “Sodom” and “Egypt”—the city where their Lord was executed on a stake.” (CJB) Is there any city in our world culture to which the symbols of Sodom (violence and perversion), Egypt (economic and political slavery), and Jerusalem (religious and political corruption) do not apply?
Flee to the Mountains Matt. 24:15—“So when you see the abomination that causes devastation spoken about through the prophet Daniel standing in the Holy Place (let the reader understand the allusion), that will be the time for Judah to escape to the hills.” (CJB) Dan. 8:11—“He exalted himself as high as the Prince of the host; and by him the daily sacrifices were taken away, and the place of His sanctuary was cast down.” (NKJV) Rev. 13:5,6—“Then he opened his mouth in blasphemy against God, to blaspheme His name, His tabernacle, and those who dwell in heaven. And it was granted to him to make war with the saints and to overcome them.” (NKJV) The key term here is the “Holy Place”. There is only one holy place, God’s office. Is. 66—“Heaven is my throne,” says Adonai, “and the earth is my footstool. What kind of house could you build for me? What sort of place could you devise for my rest? Didn’t I myself make all of these things? This is how they all came to be.” (CJB) When you see the world being ruled by a council of government with a President at its head this prophecy will be fulfilled. For what is a President, a Prime Minister, a Secretary General, but an elected king with limited power. And whoever assumes the office that belongs to God alone blasphemes against God. When this happens, GET OUT OF DODGE, leave the city. There will not be much time between then and destruction very similar to what happened at Sodom and Gomorrah. See Matt. 24, Mark 13, Luke 21. 1260 days, 1290 days, the 1335th day Dan. 12:7—“I shall be for a time, times, and half a time; and when the power of the holy people has been completely shattered (scattered) all these things shall be finished”, Matt. 24:36—“But of that day and hour no one knows”. We are not given an exact timeline for the occurrence of these events. There are 3 ½ years between the time the two witnesses “take a stand” to begin their testimony, and their defeat. After their death you could guess that there will be tribulation. Matt. 25:1-13—“The kingdom of heaven shall be likened to ten virgins who took their lamps and went out to meet the bridegroom…and while they went to buy, the bridegroom came, and those who were ready went in with him to the wedding; and the door was shut. The Tigris and the Euphrates Rev. 9:13—“And I heard a voice from the four horns of the golden altar which is before God, saying to the sixth angel who had the trumpet, “Release the four angels who are bound at the great river Euphrates. So the four angels, who had been prepared for the hour and day and month and year, were released to kill a third of mankind.” Rev. 6—“And I looked, and behold, a white horse. And he who sat on it had a bow; and a crown was given to him, and he went out conquering and to conquer. When he opened the second seal, I heard the second living creature saying, “Come and see.” And another horse, fiery red, went out. And it was granted to the one who sat on it to take peace from the earth, and that people should kill one another; and there was given to him a great sword. When he opened the third seal, I heard the third living creature say, “Come and see.” And I looked, and behold, a black horse, and he who sat on it had a pair of scales in his hand. And I heard a voice in the midst of the four living creatures saying, “A quart of wheat for a denarius; and do not hurt the oil and the wine. And I looked, and behold, a pale horse. And the name of him who sat on it was Death, and Hades followed with him. And power was given to them over a fourth of the earth, to kill with sword, with hunger, with death, and by the beasts of the earth.” Rev. 17:12—“Then the sixth angel poured out his bowl on the great river Euphrates.” The Tigris and Euphrates have become a popular catch phrase among some of the military and members of the press. This coming war in this area of the world is a trigger event that will, according to this research, set in motion the end time events. ( Matt. 24, Mark 13, Luke 21; the parable of the fig tree.) This area of the world figures so prominently in scripture from Nebuchadnezzar to today that the signs and symbology are irrefutable. Saddam Hussein considers himself a reincarnation of Nebuchadnezzar, and has, in times, past launched a billboard campaign with his portrait and the king’s side by side. Recently, the Al-Queda launched an advertising campaign in the Arab world that featured an image of Bin Laden riding a white horse and wielding a scimitar above his head. The four horsemen of the Apocalypse are about to ride. Biological weapons of pestilence are in abundant supply. The greatest war machine in the history of mankind is on the move. I had opportunity to be involved in one of the first Y2K conferences offered in the U.S.. At that time, when the fear and information were new I investigated very seriously all the implications of all of the critical factors that would be involved in the collapse of major components of supply. The interruption of electricity alone would have disastrous and deadly consequences .The food supply in the cities is limited to the ability of the infrastructure to deliver it. If any event disrupts this supply chain the food stores will be empty in a matter of days. Even gold and silver would be worthless without anything to buy. There are millions of pets that, in the event of that type of crisis, would be dumped for lack of food. And for sentimental reasons, they would be allowed to run free and breed unrestrained. There are over 4 million animal attacks a year, now, without any crisis factors. Many viewed the Y2K crisis as a joke but many others, as I do, have concrete knowledge about the dangers of a culture so far out on a limb. Conclusions: Matt. 13:41—“The Son of Man will send out His angels, and they will gather out of His kingdom all things that offend, and those who practice lawlessness.” Matt. 24:36-44—“For as in the days before the flood, they were eating and drinking...and they did not know until the flood came and took them away, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be…one will be taken and the other left… one will be taken and the other left…therefore you also be ready… We know that there is nothing anyone can do to save themselves short of trust in God and being written in the book of Life. At the same time it would be imprudent to stand on the tracks with a 70 mph freight train approaching and expect God to stop it just for you. And that’s my point, prudence. We need more research, more investigation, and more evidence to show that I could be wrong. Use your own judgment, debate, consider, but most of all communicate. I pray that I am wrong and hope that I am right. I would delight in being labeled a “crackpot” and discredited on the basis of Biblical proofs. Until then I hope that I have scared the hell out of you. It scares the hell out of me! We have an incredible responsibility before God in the care of His flock. He will provide but we must do our part. God Bless. I Thess. 5:3—“When people are saying, “Everything is so peaceful and secure,” then destruction will suddenly come upon them”.
Hello,
I know you're sick of WCG doctrinal questions. But if you have the stomach for it, can you address this one, even briefly? This is not an urgent topic, just rather odd in a demented sort of way.
First I have to confess that I am a lapsed WCGer, surfing around websites associated with remnants of the 'mother ship.' I've come across one group (claiming to have the 'only true doctine,' naturally) that makes an eye-popping statement. One has to note, also, that this is brazenly self-serving, considering the group.
They say that the 'fruit' Christ talked about in Matthew 7:15-23 refers only to doctrine. They claim that it matters only what a minister teaches, not what his works are. And it's up to the members to adjust to, or ignore, or overlook a minister's failings, weaknesses, and sins, no matter how spectacular they may be.
However, I don't remember that ever being taught in WCG. Did I just sleep through all those sermons and miss that part? It seems to me that we were taught just the opposite, but it's been a long time now and I don't want to assume anything.
Thanks, Chris

Brian Knowles write about a "God the Word". What is that??? Certainly not Jesus the Messiah, a man born of the virgin Miriam, who had his beginning at the moment of his begettal and birth. If you are going to get back to the faith once deliever, then by all means preach what Jesus preached and Paul and John, etc. Jesus taught that there is one God and only One. Not a Byinity or two-Gods in one... or three-in-one. As Thomas Jefferson stated, it streached the credulity of the mind to try to understand a triune or biune God. Sir Isaac Newton denounced the trinity and anything other that belief in one God. And yet Brian Knowles uses a translation that says.... In the beginning was the Word... why is Word capitalized? Why not use William Tyndale translation where he calls the word "it". And he was a believer in the trinity, but an honest man, who admitted that the doctrine of the trinity cannot be proved from scripture. The Catholic Encyclopedia say the same thing.... so why do you try to make John 1:1 say what it was never meant to say. The "word" in John 1:1, indicated the expression of God and what He expresses it carried out, His word does not return to Him empty. Certainly, he had Jesus in mind when he created the earth, but He had believers in mind also at the same time. Does that make us Gods? No! And it doesn't make Jesus a God either, it makes him the uniquely created second man [Adam was the first] and as a result of his successful carrying out all of His Father's commands the beginning of the New Creation of which all who are in him will have a part in the New Age when we have new age life. All of the other articles I have read so far are for the most part biblically accurate.... As for the keeping of the holy days, I'll participate when Jesus cause the Temple to be built that Ezekiel 40-48 talks about.... As for the Sabbath, I am as a new creation in Jesus the Messiah at rest, although there is plenty that he expects me to do 7 days a week. He is my Passover crucified that I might have new age life and experience a glorious change when he returns to take up his place upon David's throne at Jerusalem. May that day soon come.

I have been listening to "Study in Genesis 1 – Paradise to Flood" 0019 Dr CV Dorothy. It appears to be the second tape in a serie
